What world do you want for your kids?

Global warming, the accumulation of trash, cutting of forests and all the consequences of our actions on the planet are hurting her. Despite the many world summits and international agreements that have been signed, some feel we can ´t do anything to improve the planet.

But it is time to take action! As adults, one of the most effective tools we have at hand is awareness through education.

Based on this idea, we designed and developed a story that teaches little ones, with tenderness and innocence, that caring for the Earth is one of the most important tasks of humanity and we all can help.

For easier understanding, the story is written in rhyme, with very simple language by Pete, a child like any other, who one day goes to his neighborhood park and realizes that something is not quite right. As an extra resource, the app has attractive images all made from disposable material, many collected in the suburbs and industrial trash cans.

Application Tools
• Multiple interactive resources

Each page holds secrets to discover. The idea is that children can display all their natural curiosity, investigating and wondering at each page. Of course, every element and event has to do with the content of the story and aims to give a positive and hopeful view to the problems we are experiencing.
Thus, as the story progresses, the child may use the iPad to:
• Shake to help lower the water level caused by
melting.
• Move to discover how the elements react with each of our actions.
• Blow to mimic the wind in his romp with leaves.
• Touch to transform a landscape by covering it with flowers and fruits.
• Clean the world, replacing the junk with a beautiful green grass.

• Teaching resources

• Written in rhyme, to facilitate memory.
• Beautiful pictures that help to relate and understand
difficult concepts.
• Music and sound, to foster care.
• Simple language, to allow us to approach complex concepts to the everyday.

• Recording Panel

Your kids don’t read? That's not a problem. The app includes a panel that reads the story with our own voice recorded. It is extremely easy to use and which includes the usual commands. With this panel you can record, listen to what you read, delete and try again if you make a mistake.

• Progress page dynamics

To move from one page to another, you can drag the page like a book. You can also move forward or back using the the "go" and "back" arrows or, as a shortcut, you can choose the page that interests you from the bar index.

The story “Crazy Weather!” by Nhuma is now available in the App Store (for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and iPhone 4).
